It’s not about the food.
It’s about the best friend who stabbed you in the back.
It’s about your kid struggling with math and an impatient teacher.
It’s about the overdue bills and the suffocating debt.
It’s about the monotony of yet another day full of laundry/dishes.
It’s about your emotionally distant spouse sitting next to you on the couch.
It’s about wanting to start a family but can’t get pregnant.
It’s about the loss of a loved one, or missed opportunities.
It’s about disagreements, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings.
It’s about presenting your idea only to have it fall on deaf ears.
It’s about waking up tired.
It’s about unanswered prayers.
It’s about everything else that makes life hard, heavy, scary, and confusing. But guess what? You’re not alone.
It’s about your wants, needs, thoughts, feelings, stories, values, relationships, experiences, etc.
It’s about knowing who you are, why you’re here, and where you’re going.
If you’re feeling weighed down and find yourself consistently turning toward OR away from food, then reach out. I can help, because I’ve been there! And if for some reason I can’t help, then I know someone who can.
It’s not about food, it’s about you. And YOU deserve to eat.
Always.
Awareness practice: Journal about food. Let it all out. Brain dump. What comes up for you? Notice any trends? How will you choose to nourish yourself today?
