Calling all taco lovers!

We’ve been eating out a lot.  Like, more than usual.

And I realized that it’s because our family is craving something.  Yes, tacos (or burgers or teriyaki or fried chicken or pizza or whatever) are crave-worthy foods.  They’re delicious!  They are also a way for us to experience something.

This pandemic has not only been hard for my extroverted kids, but it has also been hard for my adventurous self.  We haven’t traveled to various places or visited with many people.  Every day is the same, a messy mix of chaotic monotony.  So it makes sense that we turn to take out for some sense of excitement.

Your cravings are valid.

I realize that not everyone has the privilege of eating out if/when they feel like it.  Maybe you too are wishing for something more and you find yourself turning to food, but because you can’t afford to buy what you want you’re left with lackluster leftovers instead…

What can you experience with the food you do have access to?  What would be possible if you were present with the textures, tastes, and temperatures of your cravings so you could honor them with your eating habits in new or different ways?  What if you could listen to your earthly vessel and have a conversation with her, so you could get creative in supporting yourself during your lowest lows and celebrating yourself at your highest highs?

Food is more than fuel, it’s an experience.  Allow it to satisfy the cravings of your body, mind, and spirit.

Tell me, what’s calling you?

What Intuitive Eating is, and isn’t

The very first principle of Intuitive Eating is to reject diet mentality. Diet culture is what tells us to hustle for our worth, to manipulate our bodies because they’re not good enough as is. That is a lie.

Intentional weight loss is the most pervasive and persuasive message that diet culture uses to sell us those lies — even the desire to lose weight for health.

Will Intuitive Eating result in weight loss? Sometimes. But you can also maintain or gain weight, because intuitive eating is not about controlling your weight! And anyone who tells you otherwise is ignoring the first step to the very practice that could help you actually experience food freedom and body acceptance.

Intuitive Eating is NOT designed for intentional weight loss, it is designed to free you from obsessing about it.

Food for life

There’s something you should know about me.

I’m not an Intuitive Eating counselor. I am, however, an intuitive life coach.

I talk about, and personally practice, Intuitive Eating because it aligns with MY values. There are certain elements of IE that aren’t accessible to all bodies, and some really struggle to implement certain principles because learning about it vs living it is different.

It’s personal. It’s nuanced. It’s between YOU and YOUR body. It has everything to do with food and nothing to do with it, simultaneously.

The truth is, how you relate to your food is how you relate to your life. Your body. Your marriage. Your parenting. Your business. Even your worship.

If you’re reading the books and streaming the podcasts and following the influencers but find yourself still confused on how to integrate/embody an intuitive lifestyle, then it’s time to listen to your intuition. And if you don’t know how, then hit me up because I can help you remember.

Your Inner Wisdom is valid, and it’s waiting for You. What are you waiting for?
